Question by Brittney: What’s the difference between factory wheels and after market wheels?
I’m looking for alloy wheels for my Mazda 3. Since they’re so expensive brand new, I’m looking around at various part stores and junk yards. However, I’ve been told different things about factory wheels and after market wheels. I’m to the point where I’m just confused now. . .

factory wheels are often steel, which makes them heavy but cheap, aftermarket fancy wheels are often an alloy or alumimum which makes them light, but expensive
the lighter the wheels the lighter the car, the faster is gets, and the better gas mileage

ive seen people selling sets of 4 with tires for 500$
factory (OEM)-made by Mazda AM -not made by Mazda, but they fit & work (if right ones).
Factory wheels are the wheels your car came with new, the ones the manufacture put on it, aftermarket wheels are anyother wheels put on a car, for example if you put on different wheels than the ones your car originally came with they’re “aftermarket” wheels
