Question by dawhitfield: What year did the Saab 9-3 convertible start having auxiliary audio inputs?
I don’t actually know that they ever started, but I have a rental car at the moment and it has one, so I figure the 9-3s probably do. I currently have a 2000 9-3 convertible. I’m thinking maybe in a year and a half or so (especially if I do not go to the Wold Cup) I might be ready for an upgrade. Time to start saving for it but I need to know what year to save for!

I believe from 2003-2006 it was available as a dealer-installed option, so if you find one in that year you can always have one put in. The jack is installed in the center console. On 2007 and beyond there’s a plug right in the face of the stereo, but I don’t think the ones with Nav have it.
I have a 2006 9-3 Aero convertible – it has the factory aux input in the center console — standard equipment. I’ve used it and it works like a champ.
Not sure if it was standard in earlier years, but as of 2006 it was. So — there’s a starting point for you.
