Sounds distinguished… he’ll likely be a dr or something! ;)

Just makes me think of a car, but its your baby and you should name him what you like.

bentley runs in my husbands family and its a tradition all the boys get it as a middle name so i like it.
james is always a safe keeper and timeless! its my grandpas name so iv always thought about it when i have a boy.

might get teased when he’s older (bent) and is a car name but so what if you like it then he’s your child its up to you

I love it! It sounds very robust and sophisticated. It’s a very mature, manly name.

one question. why on earth would you name a child after a car? switch the middle and first names around, and it would be acceptable

Bentley is feminine…I could be impartial there though bc a grew up with a girl named Bentley. I love the name James though.

Don’t like it at all.

I can’t get past the car thing- James Stephenson works great.. I’m just not wild about Bentley- what if you flipped it to James Bentley Stephenson? What about names with a similar feel to Bentley- Brent, Brandt, Ben, Bradley….

It is a good name. Especially because you have options.

Bentley James does sound distinguished, a respectable name which could generate trust if he became a doctor or a banker. It could be a bit high sounding, for those who like to nit-pick.

But you can also call him Ben, for short. This gives him the option for his name to sound more familiar and down to earth, particularly if there is trouble with it in school. Where Bentley sounds proper and educated, Ben is a name that sounds friendly and fun. You and he will have the choice of either.

And James is even a good fall-back name, should the boy decide he doesn’t like Bentley. This does happen sometimes, but if you encourage and allow him to really take possession of his own name, he will grow to appreciate at least some form of it.
I love a name with options. It gives you a chance to grow with it, through the varied phases and times in your life.
Good Choice.

its adorable

Bentley will get nicknamed Bent which will morph into “get bent” which is just rude and crude.

Please reconsider–perhaps Brandon James Stephenson…
