My personal best so far has been 22.25 mpg, more highway than city. Have not taken it on a dedicated highway run. True stop & go city – 17.5 mpg. If I can spread out the stops some, I’ve achieved 20 mpg city. Automatic transmission, 4 door.

I bought a ’97 2WD for $1000 last Nov. 205k mi. Runs like a top. I look at this video & think my dash looks better. I don’t like the passenger grab handle & the column shift of the ’98.

Chevy Blazers are okay if you show them enough love.
I read mine bed time stories each evening after a day or week of maintenance.
My friend was not so lucky with his but then,…. he is hard on it. I wonder if we wil ever get it to go into 4×4 given all the complexities with the electric/vacuum auto actuators. I suspect the half shaft gear teeth and actuator teeth are toast after all the noises coming from the front diff. This thing doesn’t know whether it is in 4×4 or 2×2.

@QcWazabi I Bought One Yesterday for $800.

hey, i just found one for sale, 1998, all electronics inside (seats, locks, window, a console with temperature and direction) it has 86000 miles, they’re selling it 3100$ (CAD) do you think it’s a great deal ? (and btw, if i buy it, they’ll inspect it and change whatever needs to be changed !)

@8Ball20101 The last year and a half i’ve had to repair the flywheel which was a quick and inexpensive job, and other than that just basic maintnence like brakes, tires, oil, and etc. The biggest problem i’ve ever had was my rear axle broke about 2 years ago it’s not a very common problem either sooo yeahh. But then again keep in mind my blazer has 190k miles on it and it’s been through some tough situations and runs amazing still. These trucks can run FOREVER if taken care of well.

@hockeykid962 During the year and a half how many repairs you’ve done to it and is it an exspensive vehicle to maintane?

I LOVE THIS CAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hockeykid962 says in May 3rd 2011 at 5:53 pm

@8Ball20101 I’ve had my Blazer for about a year and a half now, But my parents bought it brand new years ago as a back up car. And it runs so well! Like the other guy said don’t let people fool you. It’s really a great looking truck and it drives beautifully. So I would definatley reccomend this truck.
