SSL crossovers allow you to direct specific frequency ranges to the Sound Storm tweeters, full range speakers, and subwoofers designed to best reproduce those frequencies: Essentially, they tell your tweeters when to tweet and your woofers when to woof! The SX310 is a 3-way electronic crossover with remote subwoofer level control. It features front, rear, and subwoofer inputs as well as independent front, rear, and subwoofer output levels and level controls. Signal-to-noise ratio is >110dB. Other standard features include a parallel input switch that permits feeding multiple channels from one input, phase inversion switch (sub out), stereo/mono switch (sub out), and Bass Boost (0 to 12 dB) variable from 25Hz to 250Hz. Crossover frequencies can be selected as follows, front high pass from 32Hz to 250Hz, rear high pass from 40Hz to 400Hz, and subwoofer from 40Hz to 400Hz. SSL Crossover,
This has been a great addition for fine tuning my entire 3 amp system. The best part was to add much needed pre-amp line voltage; If nothing else, get it as a line driver. If your head unit only puts out 2-5 volts, this will greatly improve the efficiency of your amps and eliminate most of the low volume “whine” from the car’s electrical system.

Overall, I don’t think you can get a better electronic crossover for less than twice what amazon charges for this. I am only using it to tune by auto subwoofers since my amps don’t allow for enough control. I can’t say if this is clean enough for the high-level channels of a hi-fi system, but it handles bass cleanly. I wanted variable frequency and amplitude low frequency boost combined with an adjustable 12db crossover. Add in stereo/mono switching, multiple source control, plus phase selection and you have an ideal recipe for tuning your subs. I disassembled the unit and am quite pleased with the circuit board quality. The unit’s power draw is less than 2 amps, so I can run it off my remote power amp relay and don’t need to run a separate power wire. However, there is much room for improvement in the build quality of the case and switches. I would like to see the next model feature a more rugged body, flush mounted dials (so they can’t get broken by stuff in the trunk), and perhaps some flexible mounting options. Oh, and I wish this thing was about 1/3 smaller.

|Good while it lasted,
the crossover was nice and help fine tune my system but only lasted 6 months if that and then it started sending my amps into protect. i dont know if it was becuase of the cold weather where i live or not but not worth the money get a half DIN equalizer for tuning itd be much more satisfactory. also i did try to look into sending it back becuase it does have a one year warranty but it woulda costed me almost as much as a new one. all in all there are alot better products that will do alot better job SSL is very low quality i wish i could go back and not of gotten it but oh well
