Should I buy an S.U.V. even though they take up gasoline?

Question by cpoole2008: Should I buy an S.U.V. even though they take up gasoline?
I have a current dream S.U.V. car- A 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, and I am being told that the car takes up gas as the current gas prices are rising as they are. Is that possibly true? In the future, when I develop a family, I want to buy a Conventional Travel Trailer R.V., and I need to know if I should buy the car even though the gas prices are going up high at this time, in which includes my future, in the future.

if you could afford it.. go for it . the new 2008′s have flex fuel technology which give you the option of using different fuels & is the most fuel effeciaent from previous Tahoes. The most important things about having a car/truck is: Does it make your life easier & can you afford the price of that

if you are worry about gas buy a hybrid
Hummer H2 VS Toyota Prius
A Hummer H2 gives one only 10 miles per gallon on regular city driving and 13 miles on the highway. Its base price is 52,000 dollars. A Prius on the other hand gives you 61 miles per gallon in regular city driving and 56 miles on the highway, and its base price is around $ 20,000

And it also comes with the latest technology like Bluetooth, Smart Key System (SYS), backup camera, GPS, XM radio, mp3 player, 6 speaker sound system and Intelligent Parking Assistance (IPA)
And a powerful 120HP engine. After all why does you need an engine over 200HP. Most cars doing 60 miles per hour only take 20HP, so one doesn’t really need a motor over 200hp. The only time one is going to use the 200HP is when one is going to “Floor it” but how can you do that when the freeway is packed and the street speed limit is 35 miles per hour. As a result, you don’t need a 200hp engine.

“Most hybrid cars have long warranties on the hybrid battery. For example the Toyota Prius has a 8 year/ 100,000 mile warranty. (And in some states like California this is extended to 10 year, 150,000 miles.)”-http://hybridcars.about.com/od/hybridcarfaq/f/batteryheat.htm

“Honda Says Battery Pack in Hybrid Is Designed for Life of the Car”- http://www.fuelcellsworks.com/Supppage105.html

I.R.S is willing to give the buyer “full tax credits”. You will get from $ 650 to $ 3,150 plus the savings at the pump is over $ 500 dollars a year depending how much you drive.- http://www.hybridcars.com

As long as it is capable of using different fuels in the future, and you actually NEED the bigger vehicle, then go for it. But realize that for several years, until alternate fuels become more mainstream, you will be paying at least $ 50 every time you fill up.

With the price of gas these days, you’ll spend an aweful lot of money to drive the thing, or else it will just sit in your garage gathering dust. I’d say not….if you really want one, buy a junker to get you by for now and then when the price of gasoline stabilizes, buy your dream car!

has your brain stopped? please do not buy anything. sell the syv and use a bicycle. not because of the money, because of the pollution and the deaths. gasoline=blood.
