Question About Drawf Frog Car?

I am going to purchase two dwarf frogs for my community tank. I have a tank that is big enough for them and my fish that is fully accupied with heater, filter, and a cover. I wanted to know about how I should care for them and what they eat. Do I need to get them something so they can sit near the surface of the water or are they fully aquatic? Is there anything I should know about them? Any help I can get would be good!

my African dwarf frog liked the food that sank to the bottom of the tanks. (it was called frog and tadpole bites). feed them every other day. also what kind of fish do u have, make shore the fish can’t fit the frog inside its mouth. little fish like guppy sized are the best to put with the little frogs!

the little frogs will go up to the top by them selves to breath(don;t worry if u c the frog floating on the top, it is just breathing).
they like places to hide also.

owner of African dwarf frogs for 5 years!!!

good luck :)

They eat anything that will fit in thier mouth. Blood worms (frozen are better but can use dried ones). What ever you have for your fish, you can give to the frogs. They need a variety of food also. They are bottom feeders so they need food that will sink to the bottom. Most likely the fish will get to the food before the frogs do so make sure they eat. Feed them every other day. They are fully aquatic. They only come up to the surface of the water to breathe. They also have weird positions like the zen position, or floating on top of the water, sitting on thier backs, etc… They shed their skin every week or two. They might eat the skin or might leave it. They likely hiding spaces which you can use small clay flower pots.
Don’t put them in a tank where the fish can fit them in their mouths. I tried putting mine in my goldfish tank and my goldfish tried to eat it. ADF limbs don’t grow back. ADF will also sometimes sing. A male will sing to get a females attention and she might respond.

If you have a male and a female, it’s most likely they will spawn. If you want the eggs to hatch remove them or they will get eatten by the frogs and the fish.

Here is a great site about the steps of spawning for them

Make sure your getting ADF (African Dwarf Frogs) and NOT ACF (African Clawed Frogs). ADF get up to 2 inches ACF get up to 5 to 8 inches. ADF have webbed feet and hands. ACF have only webbed feet.
