For an electric winch I would recommend Warn or Superwinch. For a hydraulic unit go with Mile Marker.
Each has a benefit. The electric winches are great if you plan on using a receiver-type mount that you can easily remove from the vehicle when not needed (also nice because you can mount it in the rear receiver to pull yourself backward). Another benefit is that you can run the winch for a short period of time without the vehicle running.
Some negatives are that electrics heat up over heavy use. They are very hard on batteries and alternators with extreme use.
The hydraulic winches use the power steering pump to run, so your engine MUST be running for it to work. The hydraulics have a 100% duty cycle, so they never overheat and you can continuously run it. Most have 2 speeds for slow or higher line speed.
I’ve had both, each has its perks. For the occasional use, or for styling purposes, I recommend the electric because of ease of install. If you plan on actually trying to wear this thing out, then get the hydraulic.
