Q&A: What car gets the best mileage and has the best handling in the snow?
Question by Andrew M: What car gets the best mileage and has the best handling in the snow?
I am in college and i have a 5 hr commute home. I live in a very snowy place and go to school in a somewhat snowy place. I am wondering if anyone has had a car that handled well in the snow and was good on gas vie always had an suv but the mileage kills me. I am open to all suggestions cars suvs whatever but it must get good mileage on the highway.

there is no such thing as a car that gets good mileage in the snow.
I always preferred a front wheel drive in the snow ( I drove an Integra, a CRX and an Accord in CA, CO,MT, SD,DC, NV in the snow…never had a problem…through blizzards and black ice…although I didn’t care for the black ice so much..that was a bit hairy)

The new Subaru Legacy sedan has continuous variable transmission and gets good mileage (31 mpg highway). The Subaru Forester and Impreza get less mileage because they have 4 speed transmission.
