Q&A: Should I buy a used or a new Volkswagen jetta?
Question by Sue-May: Should I buy a used or a new Volkswagen jetta?
I would like to buy a Volkswagen jetta. I found a 2006 value pack Jetta with 22500 miles at a dealership (not VW) for sale at $ 15,200. However, If I am not wrong, I can buy a brand new value pack Jetta for about $ 18,000 or so. I am not sure if spending few $ $ more for a new car is better than buying the used one. Any suggestions?

If the options are the same, get the used one.

man, i hope i don’t get in trouble for this. but i had a 2000 VW bettle. i wouldn’t even suggest buying VW car brand new. Repairs – expensive and even when you go to non dealership to get repairs, it’s still expensive. especially that this is used you don’t know what happened to it. oil changes at the dealer or any repair or maitenance done is half a day to 6 hours. things inside falls apart and sometimes they cant fix and when they try to it comes back and it’s another 500 or 600….good luck..this car maker is highly unrealiable and they don’t make them as good as they use to…don’t take the risk it’s not worthied
the used one is still gona transport you like the new one right? the used one is still gona work like the new one right? why not get the used one?
If horsepower its an issue with you than get the used one. The 2008 models now offer 170hp as opposed to the 05-07 models(150hp). Also if the used one is a 2.0T model than defiantly get because for the 2008 model line up the 200hp engine is not being offered.
Dont get a VW jetta, or a VW for that matter, they tend to have a lot of problems. I recommend getting something else for the same amount of money.
If your set on it though just go for the new one…
