Q&A: If I unplug my passenger side airbag, does it also disable the drivers side? 2002 GMC Savana 3500?
Question by Jim H: If I unplug my passenger side airbag, does it also disable the drivers side? 2002 GMC Savana 3500?
I need to disable the passenger side airbag in the van in case I ever need to drive our baby in it. I unplugged it under the passenger dash. Is my drivers bag useless now too? I will install a switch if this is the case.

if i were you i would just install a little toggle switch that runns down by your key switch on a flat spot, that way you can turn it on or off when you need to , instead of just unplugging it not knowing what is going to work. but if its a van why would you need to put the baby in the front seat?? arent they supposed to be in the back anyway.

kids under age must be in rear seat/also has to do with the weight/cant and should not be in front pass seat
Hi, There should be a warning device telling you the seats have no bags working.
no it will not disable the drivers side they r independent of each other for safety reasons all so the law states that u can cary a baby in the front as long as its in a rear facing seat and no airbags
