Huge 8.3-Inch Screen
The PTID-8310NRB boasts an 8.3-inch in-dash screen, for uncompromising entertainment. The motorized, LED-backlit LCD telescopes forward and backward with preset angles. It offers 800 x 480 pixel resolution with a 400 NIT brightness rating, for a picture to rival anything else out there. It’s also a touchscreen, for quick and easy navigation of system features.
When not in use, the screen tucks safely away into the receiver, thanks to Power Acoustik’s unique rotating mechanism. A standard DOT display picks up the slack when you’re not using it.
Integrated Bluetooth
Make hands-free calls or stream music with integrated Bluetooth technology. The PTID-8310NRB works with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, and it includes a built-in microphone.
A2DP profile support means you can stream audio from compatible devices directly to your stereo, with no cable needed.
Enjoy Your Media
Play back your favorite discs with support for DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and VCD formats. You can also enjoy DivX and MP4 video, along with MP3/WMA audio (from disc, SD card, or USB devices).
Dial in the sound with custom or preset EQ settings, along with audio staging controls.
Prefer the radio? The PTID-8310NRB features an AM/FM radio with 18 FM and 12 AM presets, for instant recall of your favorite stations.
50W x 4 MOSFET Amplifier

Front-Panel Inputs
You get plenty of input options with this receiver. Put your favorite media on SD cards or a USB thumb drive, and plug right into the slot/port on the front of the device.
There’s also a standard 3.5-mm auxiliary input, so no matter what your device, chances are you can connect it.
Navigation-Ready
Just add the optional NaviBox-1 (sold separately), and you’ll have a full-featured NAVTEQ navigation system at your fingertips. Get realistic intersection views, turn-by-turn instructions, 2D and 3D map viewing, and plenty more.

Really Disappointed,
I just installed my unit after just ordering it last week Oct. 2010. I was filled with so much anticipation because I thought it would be so cool, only to be disappointed by the fact that the DVD player did not work, and when I pay movies on my flash drive they would occasionally skip. Listen I have only had the thing in my car for 4 hours. I am twice disappointed by this company, having purchased the 7 inch model in March 2010 and only to have the motherboard malfunction in June 2010. I purchased the 8 inch unit because I liked the features and thought that it was totally an isolated incident. Guess again!!! Why oh, Why??? Now I have to go through the hassle of returning this thing. I wonder if a replacement is even worth it, because I am tired of taking this thing out of my car, it is a real buzz kill. THIS ONLY LEAVES ME TO ONE CONCLUSION, THIS COMPANY MAKES INFERIOR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS THING, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY TO WASTE.

|Can you say junk?,
I bought this unit, actually waited several months for it to be released and when I finally had it installed nothing could have been more disappointing. Tech support didn’t care that it was costing me hundreds of dollars to have it installed and uninstalled and sent back! The Bluetooth was lousy to say the least and didn’t work easily. In my opinion this units menu interface was lousy as well. The only thing good I have to say about this unit is that I was able to get my money back through Amazon. In my opinion a company should have a stereo head unit triple checked if it sold through a company like Amazon. The reason is that the consumer foots the bill here for a bad product by having it shipped, installed and uninstalled and reshipped. As a result of trying this head unit I will never buy anything made by this company again if I can help it. Spend the little extra and go with a reliable name. After this I bought Pioneer and in my opinion you should too!

|Though I had someone else install it. . .,
After having Best Buy install this for me ($200 + $20 wiring harness + $20 in taxes) I have briefly tried all the aspects of the unit.
USB adapter instantly connects to the system and the system pulls the data out of various folders you copy to it. This works the same as an SD card (supposedly though I’ve yet to try one.)
Some unusual (pirated Asian imported Akira Kurosawa movie collection discs) worked were on some occasions they will fail for certain DVD players.
The parking brake only has to be slightly engaged for the dvd player to work and doesn’t seem (?) to affect driving performance. Some might argue this is dangerous though it shouldn’t really be (assuming you set the parking brake in position while not in drive).
The Navigation box (NAV-1) I did not want to use as I prefer to use a Garmin 855 (which can also plug it’s headphone/auxilary plug into the A/V plug of the stereo.) If you wanted you could plug the SD card directly into the garmin and play music while having it direct you.) I’m just doubtful of what it could do.
The TV tuner I could care less about so I didn’t try it either. I’ll only be making changes to some of my speakers.
LCD quality: Appears to be the best on the market (at least it certainly is for single DIN in-console dvd players. Sound quality made a huge improvement for my speakers though I noticed the tell-tale signs of them being previously blown grow even more apparent. The speakers need to take advantage of the amplifiers power. Digital processing is evident.
Bluetooth was very easy to connect to a RAZR phone. When receiving a call (which happened only minutes after setting it up; very unusual for me as I never use the phone) it instantly picked up and made very decent interaction with no delay. I didn’t experience the odd sound anomaly present from when receiving phone calls whenever bluetooth is being used to call me on my phone (and myself not using bluetooth) even if that bluetooth connection happens to be in a relatively new Jaguar. The stereo unit has a buil-in mic though an external one is included to be plugged in and attached to a closer location relative to yourself. Whenever the unit engages bluetooth the music already is off and nothing but the sound of the driving will interfere. I didn’t use the external mic though I was uncertain if it would be a problem, which it doesn’t appear to be.
The fairly present LCD screen is able to adjust forward and backwards, even able to slide closer towards the dash. Since a mount is included for dashes that stick out, the whole unit sticks out pretty far, and even then using the reverse movement gets too close and prevents it from completing the movement. The tilt feature works irregardless of how far it’s slanted.
Installation for the amp was placed under the dash. If I wanted a sub I would have a low profile one plugged under the passenger seat, though the bass should be good irregardless (given you have a bass boost option which makes up for external stand-alone bass.) Again, speakers should make a difference and those alone should be able to hold up to the performance.
The unit has a somewhat generic appearance and might deter someone trying to steal it if they assumed it to be a cheap cd player (with an improper dash mount). The unit comes with a “theft deterrent” cover which makes it appear like a front panel is missing from it. If someone merely looked in the car they might wonder about the added few extra inches sticking out of the dash. Though clearly anything sticking out as far with such intent would clearly be an in-dash lcd screen. Not to mention the LCD screen appears rather large relative to the unit due to the motor mechanism to compensate for the size (no double entendre intended).
I’ve only found this available online though have found Power Acoustik’s more noticeable products (the seat installed LCD DVD players) available in stores.
For $330, the only thing I’ve seen come even remotely close would have to be a $1000 fixed 2 DIN dash installation that isn’t even close to the LCD size or resolution of this model. I’ve spent over $600 for everything (well, actually more if you include that I damaged the O/D wires to the floor mounted shifter and for some reason am required to mainly press the pin that engages the shift assembly to get in and out of park). This should make note of my not trying to sound reputable.
The real test is whether the unit motor holds up and whether the electrical system doesn’t blow. That and the dash it’s install into is a freestanding dash that has weakened plastic. This was installed into a Mercury Mystique 1998 (mostly the same as a Ford Contour.)
