to haul a Harley Sportster in? My wife and I will shortly be full time RVers in a 2008 Fleetwood Excursion 42′ motorhome, and we want to “kill 2 birds with 1 stone” so to speak, by towing a pickup with a fiberglass camper top and transporting my Harley Sportster in the pickup bed.The Sportsters length is 88 inches. What’s the smallest pickup (older model, 1994-2002) with a bed long enough to accomodate my Sportster?

At those later years you look for Nissan’s Frontier was offered in a longer bed than its competitors and it is a solid reliable truck so that would be a good recommendation.

You might be better off getting a motorcycle lift/carrier that mounts to the rear of your motor coach. This would make it much easier to load and unload the bike, rather than wrestling it in and out of a covered pickup bed. It will also allow you more flexibility in your choice of 4-wheel vehicles to tow behind… You could go with a jeep or smaller car rather than a pickup.
I agree with GY on the Nissan Frontier but you will want to beef up the suspension. I hauled my 02 V-Star 1100 Classic (about 680 lbs) in my Dad’s Frontier and it was close to bottoming out the suspension. It is not an issue in my Titan but you might want to consider that when you are looking at the various small truck.
