@jmikemx no when you under boost at the throttle slaps shut the air as to go some where right so it goes out the blow off vavle and if the vavle isnt big enough or good som ewill go back in to the turbos compressor forcing the turbo to slow down which cause the flutter noise

what makes that flutter sound at 1:32? is it a certain type of blow off valve?
@motorsportman1 No real engine builder cares about the sr20 ;p
but they really should have two bovs…
Also compressor surge is supposed to be avoided by anti surge compressors and proper engine/turbo pairing.
My guess is this is some nasty hybrid which has a huge cold side and a medium hot side… and the little sr just surges it every time he gets off boost.

That’s compressor surge. Not an awesome blow off valve noise. So have fun when you’re rebuilding that turbo in a couple of thousand miles. The engine does not get hurt, but the turbo takes a beating, lol. Good sounding car though.
