My peugeot 406′s gearstick rattles when it goes into 3rd 4th or 5th gear it is a manual any ideas?
It has been in the garage and the gear mount has been changed but that hasn’t fixed it they have had it up on a ramp and drove it and it is fine so it’s only when the wheels are on the floor. It is not the driveshaft as he has checked. (P.S it is at a specialist peugeot garage) please help thanks.

I had this problem before, and traced it to the U-JOINTS on the drive shaft. Now if this is fwd, I recommend checking the axle shaft, CV joints and balance of the tires. Have all the linkages on the shifter inspected.
GOOD-LUCK!! “BRILLIANT”!!!!
check for worn trans or motor mounts, driving on the road will place tension on the mounts and make the engine flex, moving the gear selector.
