My 2001 dodge 3500 diesel is leaking radiator fluid from the front of the engine. All hoses are secured and all seems normal except fluid draining from the front of my engine. Any ideas?

AAH..one of my favorites. Either your water pump is leaking or the bypass hose is. Normally not noticeable at idle and difficult to see except from under the vehicle. Both easy to replace.

I would say it is your water pump leaking coolant
Water Pump would be the best place to start looking!!
yep, water pump not sealing. on the Cummins engine, the water pump is actually internal to the engine with an impellor mounted on a shaft that goes thru a face plate that mounts to the front of the engine. the other end of the impellor shaft has a pulley that the belt runs on to turn the impellor, therefore pumping water thru the engine cooling system.
in the early designs (’89-’91) of the Cummins, the studs holding this plate on were too small and there was a factory recall to replace them. I had one fail on my ’91 with only about 3000 miles on it…
anyway, if you crawl under the truck from the front, look for the pulley that goes thru a plate that is mounted with 2 studs (might be bolts on the later models?). it might just be one of the nuts backed off and you can tighten it… other wise, if still leaking, you will need to pull off the belt, then crawl back under the front and remove the2 nuts, pull the impellor plate/pulley assembly off and replace the seal / gasket that is between the mounting plate and the engine block.
good luck!!!
the water pump bolts to the front ofthe block with 2 10mm bolts. It is to the right of the cooling fan drive pulley. It is most likely leaking. There is also an O ring on the piece that connects the lower hose to the engine block, located behind the A/C compressor. These leak but not nearly as much as the water pump.
Take a flash light and look up from underneath and you will probably see the pump leaking. Be care full when you replace it, it uses an o ring instead of a gasket. Lube the o ring so you won’t cut it when installing the new one pump.
