before you count this thing out!!!!!!!,
This little unit is actually ok! I gave it 4 stars because it is really cheap looking, but doesnt look bad when installed. When you get this unit care fully read directions for hook up installation. Its not that bad if you are familiar with electronics and radio installation! You should at least have some experience in this first! Im sure if you read the directions it will tell you to disconnect the battery first, then you wont have the experiences that some other people have about this D.I.C not working! If you fail to unhook the battery it will fail to work CORRECTLY! IT WILL CUT OFF THE POWER TO THE RADIO BECAUSE THE D.I.C WILL RESET AFTER SO LONG AND THATS WHERE THE RADIO GETS ITS POWER SOURCE FROM. DUH RIGHT? With that said, you can change the contrast and brightness, and also change the color of the buttons from orange or green! Pretty neat!!!I didnt read the directions until after installation, and found this out the hard way! Just a tip, if you are interested in keeping this D.I.C but also want a double din touchscreen you can actually hide this cheap looking unit in the glove box or inconspicous place. all you have to do is cut it down to size but be careful not to damage the lcd componets. Thats what im going to do in my wifes car. its a price to pay at 135 bucks , but it is worth keeping the info to me and for her too! Figured i would buy a cheap cd player to put in for her with ipod and usb port, but its too junky and i talked her into a double din so thats what i plan to do!

YOU DO NOT REPEAT NOT NEED ANY THING ELSE BUT ANTENNA ADAPTER. THIS COMES WITH THE HARNESS TO PLUG IN TO THE EXISTING RADIO WIRING HARNESS, THEN FROM THAT HARNESS TO RADIO HARNESS, YOU WILL HAVE TIO WIRE HARNESS INTO TWO DIFFERENT PLUGS ON REAR OF D.I.C. CAREFULLY READ DIRECTIONS AND REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. AND ALSO IF YOU HARE READ ANYTHING ON HAVING TO FIND POWER FROM FUSE BOX OR FROM A CERTAIN WIRE FROM IGNITION HARNESS, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR FINDING ALTERNATE POWER WITH THIS KIT HERE!

i bought this item because it was pretty much my only option if i wanted to keep my d.i.c. display. i have had it for about a month and the lcd screen just stopped working. so if all you want is your door chimes and an ugly looking lcd under your deck this is for you.

|works for 2007 Pontiac G6,
I am so happy that I have waited to buy this dash kit. There were three times in the past year when I was about to click on the submit button to complete the order and backed out. When I saw this kit $70 dollars cheaper I bought it right away. Please remember to get your GM antenna adapter since this is not included. The cons are that the screen looks extremely cheap and dated. It reminds me of that little light that you pressed on your LCD watch back in 1990. The LCD characters also slowly fade in and out too as if they are losing power. It has nothing to do with my battery or anything, just every couple of seconds the characters dim in and out like clockwork, but not a big deal just a nitpick. Also you have to really press the buttons in and hold for a second for them to register. My factory buttons felt like normal buttons where you pressed them and they functioned. However I am happy since I am able to use an aftermarket stereo. The sound quality is much better even with the factory speakers (no moonsoon in my car) but I may replace the 6 X 9′s in the back as they distort a little at high volume.
EDIT
I have had this for a few months now and wanted to mention that there is a setting to increase the contrast of the display. At default the characters had that fading in and out effect I described, but adjusting the contrast setting managed to remove this problem and give the characters a solid color now. Still looks cheap but it works.
