Almost 50,000 players have participate every year from 50 countries since 20 years of the commencement of the tournament. The Mercedes-Benz Invitational Golf Tournament is dedicated to the success and growth it has received in India for the Mercedes Trophy. The tournament is in its 11th edition in India. The Mercedes Trophy, the international golf tournament is back as it kicked off its club qualifier round- Mercedes -Benz Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament started in Mumbai today at Bombay Presidency Golf Club. The qualifier round will be held in eight other cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Coimbatore, Chennai and Bangalore. Since 1989, the Mercedes-Benz Golf Tournament has been promoting amateur golf and since then its has seen an increased number of participation from 50 countries which includes as many as 50,000 players every year. This tournament is one of the most reputable Golf tournament and every golfer holds his dream to win the world final, held at Stuttgart in Germany in the home ground of Mercedes-Benz. The tournament is an opportunity for the golfers to meet the best in the sport from all over the world. The response to the Mercedes-Benz from India has been overwhelming which has forced the auto giants to introduce the qualifier rounds in the sub continent. The winner will be lucky as he or she will be awarded with Mercedes-Benz SLK. Dr. Wilfred Aulbur, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes Benz India Pvt Ltd. said with enthusiasm, that, Mercedes Trophy is the right mix of sports, lifestyle and Three Pointed Star. The tournament is great event which is a platform to meet the proud owners of Mercedes and also other eminent personalities and friends. This year the enthusiasm is more as almost 2000 participants and golf lovers are expected to participate in the event. Debashis Mitra, Director of Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd. said that, the event is the talk of town as it invites the best from every corner from the country. The tournament will feature distinguished guests from the country and also it forms a mini club of the luxury car owners. He even added that, it is indeed the most celebrated event in the country.
