Long Beach Grand Prix Victor Conway Chooses Petrol Eyewear
Long Beach Grand Prix Victor Conway Chooses Petrol Eyewear
Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) November 24, 2011
Mike Conway took first place at the 37th annual Long Beach Grand Prix this year, finishing more than six seconds ahead of the runner up. Conway wears Petrol Polarized Eyewear, developed by automotive enthusiasts and endorsed by professional race car drivers. Petrol Eyewear offers superior driving optics designed to increase depth perception, sharpen vision, reduce eye fatigue, and protect the wearer from harmful UV and high-intensity visible light.
“We’re really excited that such a fine, young driver has chosen Petrol polarized sunglasses to provide Grand Prix performance off the track, too,” said Petrol Eyewear president Terence Sheckter.
Conway wears Petrol Eyewear’s Polarized Carburetor model, a polarized ergonomic wrap sunglass in comfortable, flexible Grilamid. These sunglasses have TR-90 frames, are made in Italy and are available in both grey and bronze models . The Carburetor model utilizes injected polycarbonate lenses that allow 12% visible light transmission, eliminating glare on roads, water and snow. Repelium® coating of the lenses makes them resistant to scratches, smudges, oils, water, fogging and fingerprints. Advanced light filtering technology provides 100% UV protection (absorption to 400 nanometers), which keeps harmful rays off the user’s corneas. Built-in blue light suppression sharpens visual acuity and protects retinas. The optically correct, distortion-free lenses are cast and vacuum-coated in France.
Britain’s Conway honed his skills in European formula cars. In 2004, he won the Formula Renault UK Championship and was twice recognized by the British Racing Drivers’ Club for his achievements in Formula 3 in 2005. Conway had victories the 2006 British Formula 3 championship and the 2006 Macau Grand Prix as well as the 2008 GP2 Series in Monaco. Conway’s victory in Long Beach was the first win of Conway’s IndyCar career.
Petrol Eyewear is an independent designer and manufacturer of high-quality eyewear for everyday use. While motor sports drivers are attracted to their polarized eyewear for its superior vision, the Petrol collection includes many styles, including the always-popular aviator sunglasses, suitable for most any pursuit where high-quality polarized sunglasses are essential. Headquartered in Huntington Beach, Calif., Petrol is a subsidiary of TSW, a leading producer of alloy wheels with a 30-year history of incorporating race-inspired technology into everyday driving. Founded by a former Formula One racing driver, TSW products are born of a rich racing heritage.
