Jim Ellis Porsche Anticipates New Panamera Models in June 2010

The V6 Panamera is still a high-performance vehicle

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 19, 2010

Jim Ellis Porsche dealership in Atlanta Georgia has more to look forward to than warmer weather in the spring and summer of 2010. Porsche Cars North America just announced that they will be adding two more cars to the exciting new Panamera line up that was just released in the US in October, 2009!

As Porsche enthusiasts know, the world’s first Porsche four-door sedan, the Panamera, was released in the fall of last year. The Gran Turismo was brought out in three “flavors”: the Panamera S, the Panamera 4S and the Panamera Turbo, all of which sported hefty V8 engines. Since it’s release, the Panamera line-up has received several awards, including Edmunds Inside Line Editors’ Most Wanted Award, Playboy Magazine’s 2010 Car of the Year, two Car and Driver Editors Choice Awards for Sports Sedans and Luxury Sedans, and Bloomberg Car of the Year.

“The Porsche Panamera has been the most successful vehicle launch in many years here at Jim Ellis Porsche. We have sold about 50 cars so far, and the owners love them. We always have one available to test-drive at our showroom.” says Doug McIntyre, General Manager of Jim Ellis Porsche. “Now we have the pleasure of introducing a new 300 horsepower model for June delivery! Just drop by and experience our virtual car configurator to build and order yours”.

In April 2010, the V6 models Panamera and Panamera 4 will make their world debut at the Beijing Motor show, and are scheduled to arrive in Porsche dealerships nationwide in June 2010. The Panamera MSRP is 74,400 and Panamera 4 MSRP will be $ 78,900.

Both of these new models feature a brand-new 3.6-liter V6 with Direct Fuel Injection, 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Panamera 4 comes standard with active all-wheel drive, while the Panamera is rear-wheel drive. US models will include the Porsche PDK as standard equipment, and enthusiasts will want to test out Porsche’s new and revolutionary seven-speed double-clutch gearbox.

The lighter weight V6 models are expected to be considerably more fuel efficient than the V8 Panameras due to the engine size, the PDK gearbox and the Auto Start Stop function, though the official US EPA fuel economy ratings have not yet been determined. Naturally, both cars meet the rigorous EU5 emission standard in Europe as well as the LEV standard in the USA. Like all Panamera models, they are not subject to a gas-guzzler tax.

However, just because these V6 models are aimed at superior fuel efficiency, don’t discount their performance value and how fun they are to drive! The Porsche Cars North America Inc press release notes “Like the proven V8 models, both the Panamera and the Panamera 4, as genuine Gran Turismos, combine a sporting character with a high standard of comfort and everyday driving qualities.”
