@jeepcherokeeKK37 That nobody asked, why I have not bought a Grand.)

jeepcherokeeKK37 says in November 17th 2010 at 8:03 am

why didn’t you just bought a cherokee?

JoEd933 says in November 17th 2010 at 8:52 am

@miltrucker

you should lift it

3:30 The dune exceeded the break over angle for the Patriot. Hence you got hung up. You may have made it if you had carried more momentum up and over. Nice video.

Zpinua says in November 17th 2010 at 10:41 am

@Panic853 So pay attention to them (the USA-version does not have rear fog lamps, direction indicators are red, and the fender-indicators(side) are not available). Videos i upload as soon as possible to withdraw (shoot) it. See my other videos. I’m always glad to help, good luck. ;)

Granted, my town with a population of nearly one million people do not has at least one of the Jeep Patriot FDII, and in the whole country, probably, too does not. Be unique – cool! Jeep – it’s not Seat or Opel. Indeed: “Jeep – there’s only one”. 8-) I think in the EU will be problems (likely to arise) with the optics (direction indicators, fog lamps), than with the bumper.

Panic853 says in November 17th 2010 at 12:35 pm

Hey pal! Thanks for the answer. I am glad you did conceed to get a FD II to our continent. There must be very few arroud! I ‘ll check out if the front bumper could be accepted for homologation in EU but making some rough number it looks very interesting to get a Custom made FDII shiped! Thanks for your help amigo ;-D and don’t stop posting your vids on the tube…

Zpinua says in November 17th 2010 at 12:57 pm

Yes, in Ukraine we too can only get the FDI package. Therefore, the purchase took place in the USA. Then, the car was delivered (sailed) in the ukrainian port Odesa on the ferry and customs cleared. There are many companies specializing in the import of cars from the USA, probably in Spain too (my friend helped me). The game is worth the candle! FDII (Low+BLD) actually works. FDI (only Lock) is a rattle.:) Thank you for your comment!

Panic853 says in November 17th 2010 at 1:31 pm

Hey Zpunia, I really like to watch you playing around with the Pat. How did you get the FD II to Ukraine? Who did the transport. I would love to by a FDII too. Here in spain we can only get the FDI package. By the way compliment for the video. Keep us up dated…

Decent driving there, bud! The Patriot seems to do pretty well. You’ll have more fun with it if you lift it a couple inches w/ suspension spacers and get a bit bigger tires with off-road tread. Look into General Grabber 2′s or BFGs. They have the reinforced side walls, also, which are important off road. Then don’t forget to drop pressure. Especially in sand and rocks that makes a huge difference in traction.

NorthEasternSnow says in November 17th 2010 at 2:27 pm

you would hope a jeep could go off road, i think people drive a jeep with the ” what if” factor. i would hope if i ever needed to drive in some dunes i wouldnt get stuck

Propel3453 says in November 17th 2010 at 2:52 pm

Nothing really goes good in sand anyway.

good

pcmr57 says in November 17th 2010 at 4:53 pm

good video by the way.

pcmr57 says in November 17th 2010 at 5:43 pm

This unit was developed to compete with the likes of CRV- Rav4, Escape etc. Jeep was losing a lot of market share there. Not everyone drives their vehicles off road, most don’t actually so Jeep had to build something catered to those individuals.

The 4×4 package is still an impressive machine especially with the CVT. It would perform better still with better tires. The Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires are way more on road than off road.

Doubledee90 says in November 17th 2010 at 6:12 pm

yeah, I have no idea. Just trying to get to a different market with these “Jeeps”

superamerica1981 says in November 17th 2010 at 6:34 pm

It would actually be much cooler if it weren’t based on the same platform as a Dodge Caliber… What was Jeep thinking?

xboxmichael says in November 17th 2010 at 7:28 pm

i think so … but i saw a video where a jeep commander was in a huge mud puddle and the engine was completely submerged in it amazingly it was still running and the jeep maid it through. but idk if the jeep patroit will. when you saw in the video when it went in the water i think i could have gone a few more feet

Doubledee90 says in November 17th 2010 at 7:47 pm

the patriot would be so much cooler if it had more ground clearence…and solid front and rear axles. But even with out the solid axles, more ground clearance would be better

3boody2000 says in November 17th 2010 at 7:48 pm

+) No comment !!!

robvann says in November 17th 2010 at 8:26 pm

I have the FDII package. As I understand it I can use it 3 different modes. I was in the 2nd one below.
4WD High range
4WD Low range – Off road mode on, ESP on
4WD Low range – Off road mode on, ESP off

Zpinua says in November 17th 2010 at 8:54 pm

In the mud is better to use the 4WD-Lock with LOW range. Only then BLD-system will be activated and will help you. I do not know you have FDI or FDII? If FDI, it probably should use ESP, but I’m not sure. I am sure of one thing: the FDI in a serious off-road doing nothing. :)
