Is it okay to put 10w30 or 10w40 oil in our industrial Isuzu truck?

Question by Little doctor-to-be: Is it okay to put 10w30 or 10w40 oil in our industrial Isuzu truck?
We have an industrial 18′ refridgerated Isuzu truck and need to perform an oil change…we have records that indicate it was 15w30 the last time…but we wanted to avoid going to buy more oil when we already have 10w30…and yet don’t want to damage anything either.
The truck is not a diesel.
So, nearly any vehicular motor oil will suffice, but some may be better suited to my climate?

Should be just fine.
Unless it is a diesel, Diesels require heavier oils.

Best of luck to ya.

if it’s diesel you have to buy oil for a diesel. most 10w30 and 10w40 oils don’t have a diesel rating. on the back of the bottle there is a symbol that tells whether it is ok for diesel.
“meets API SM/CI-4″ if it only says SM and not CI-4 DO NOT put it in a diesel.
