Is a 1998 Acura 2.3CL a good car?
Question by Sam: Is a 1998 Acura 2.3CL a good car?
I’m getting my first car soon, and I will be 17 when I get it. I really want a german car, probably a VW, but I read reviews and more people have problems than not. Therefore I turned to Japanese cars. My family owns both german and japanese cars, bmw honda and acura. the acura has been the most reliable followed by the bmw then honda. I found a few 2.3Cl’s with about 120-140k miles, 5 spd manual, for about $ 3000. I will only keep the car for about a year until I go to college. So would this be a good, reliable car for a 17 year old?
haha I know what it looks like, I think it can look a bit girly, but whatever. I would just do a few things to make it more “guyish” and personalized

i would make sure you got it in front of a good mechanic before you part with your money.
all in all, honda engines are reliable. the cars pretty reliable and usually in good shape after 10 years if well maintained.

it probably will be a OK car. and it looks a little nice. i am going to send you a picture of it.here is the link and the car.
Should be okay for a YEAR (10-12k miles). Anything past…probably not.
Cls are unisex. It’s not a big deal to have a unisex car. If it drives it doesn’t matter that it’s fluffy inside.
At the end of the day it’s still a honda 4 cylinder so it’s going to be decently reliable upto 150k+ miles if taken care of.
