I just assumed a Mazda lease, can I purchase additional miles in advance at a cheaper rate?

I just assumed the lease on a Mazda that expires in Sept 2010. It only has about 10,000 miles remaining on the original aggrement, and I am wondering if they have options to purchase more miles in advance instead of the 20 cents per mile charge at the return of the lease.
I mean that I went through Mazda Credit and had taken over a lease of the previous lease holder who was leaving the country. So now I am the lease holder and make the payments to Mazda.

No, they don’t. Depending on the lease terms, though, you can usually buy the car out at the end of the lease, which is sometimes a cheaper choice.

define assumed/does the leinholder know about this?????? no you cant go there/bad idea to assume lease/the best way to lease is to get brand new at beginning of model year/no money down/the advantage comes because of the residual value/it doesnt matter now but you are in and the other guy got the benefits/new car up front/no lease/no responsibility/and no turn in fees/got to watch for that/get ready

More info is definitely needed…

If you made some sort of agreement with the original owner to pay out on the lease until it is finished, then turn the car back in, then it’ll never be your vehicle in the first place… and you cannot make any changes to the agreement.

Did you take up payments for someone? Do “Swap-a-lease” or something similar?

No. The original lease can’t be changed.

Usually ‘NO.” By taking it over you agree to the original terms of the lease. However, if you want to buy it out at the end of the lease, then you don’t need to worry about the miles because you won’t have to pay for the overage that way.
