I bought a Lexus Rx 350 last year, without the navigation system. Is there any way to install one now?

I called the Lexus dealership and they said that i needed to have one installed when it came from the factory, otherwise there is no way for them to install one because they are not permitted to. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to install it, a company somewhere?

Thanks!

Just put an aftermarket one, comes with the stereo head unit which is cheaper and better. To get one factory made requires replacement of engine management computer,GPS receiver, display unit of sound system, wiring and antenna, controls and modules, the whole interior must be taken apart, the cost will be prohibited.Or if really got to have it,trade it in and get one comes with it is much more sense.

If a Lexus dealer told you “no”, you think you’re going to get a better answer on Yahoo?

No, you cannot get a factory nav system installed after the fact.

What you can do – you can get an aftermarket system installed, which will probably also replace your factory stereo. Any electronics installer can do this. Examples here:

Or – you can just buy a portable, suction cup it to the windshield, plug it into the cigarrette lighter and call it good.

If a dealer is not willing to tackle the job, I would not hire some stereo dude to mess with it.

Why not buy a good portable GPS? For about $500 you could get one that does everything, serve you coffee, and give you a foot massage.

A dealer installed GPS will cost you well over $1000, probably closer to $2000 with all the parts and labor. A total waste of money if you ask me.

I’d rather listen to Lexus because they know what they are talking about. My mom drives a lexus so i know about them. soo yeah listen to them. dont go anwhere else and find out that they messed up your RX.

If it were my car no problem but your SOL…..

The OE unit is not offered at this time, but rumor has it the supplier is working on making it available as a dealer add-on.
