How to hook up a battery in the trunk of my 1987 BMW 325?

Question by Randy G: How to hook up a battery in the trunk of my 1987 BMW 325?
I own a 1987 BMW 325 and my battery is in the trunk. recently, someone hit the rear end of car and i had to buy a new battery for it. Problem is, there is something about a vent on the battery? I don’t know anything about the vent so i would really appreciate if someone could help me thanks.

Batteries in the trunk are housed in a box and have a vent tube to the outside of the trunk

Some batteries have a vent that comes out at one end. There should be a hose (usually clear and not much bigger than a straw) that runs from this vent and goes down through a hole to the outside of the trunk.

If the new battery did not come with one, just pull the old one off of the old battery and put it on the new one.

Hope this helps and good luck
