How much do Volvo seat belts increase the stopping distance during a crash?

During a car crash, how much do seat belts increase the stopping distance by; preferably in Volvo’s however, any type of car would be fine. Also, is there a difference between the stopping distance of a seat belt which is retracted and one which is not. Any equations would also be very helpful. And please include a website source.

They don’t increase or decrease the stopping distance of your Volvo. They do however keep you from going threw the windshield when you are in a accident,Sorry there is no web sight for Volvo seat belts stopping distance during a crash.

Seat belts have nothing at all to do with stopping…brakes do however…

The seat belt won’t make the car stop quicker, it just makes sure you don’t keep on going!

i agree with manny – the seat belts affect you. only the brakes affect the stopping distance. if you have a newer volvo that isnt an xc90, the stopping distance will probably be 150 downwards.
