How many miles can Pontiac Firebirds last before they start getting problems?
Im looking at buying a 1995 Pontiac Firebird and it has 138000, for 3700 for best offer. Think it’s worth it? How long can these cars last before they start getting problems?

Too old and the mileage is high. You will probably start having problems less than 6 months. If you do decide to buy it, make sure you ask what work has been done and what parts have been replaced.
The miles are low for the year. It all depends on where it is, how it was driven and how often they changed the oil.
I take it that it is a 6 cyl.
it doesn’t matter how many miles you put on it, its how well you take care of it. if you take care of it well enough it could last you your hole life. your question can not be answered in truth by user’s, but only by other user’s experience of what they “THINK”
Any car with that high of milage is probably going to have immediate problems. It all depends on how good or bad the owners took care of it. If it was very well taken care of, you’ll probably have only a few minor problems at first. If badly, then major problems immediatley.
Being an auto tech, I feel obligated reccomend a pre-purchase inspection from your local automotive shop to try and forsee any future problems and see if it has any at the moment.
I would also ask for any and all service records for the car. If they have little to no service records, either they didn’t keep the documents, or they didn’t take care of it. In my experiences probably the latter.
