you could convert it, however, the weight of the vehicle plus batteries would make it very heavy and range would be short. do check out the sites provided and ask questions.

Can it be done? Sure
Can it be done economically? Probably not
Ever wonder why all electric vehicles are small, sub-compacts? Because they’re not big and heavy like the Yukon. You’d have to have strong electric motors for the drive system and enough batteries to power the motors.
It can be done, but you are better off doing something else to save fuel. A Yukon XL is a big vehicle. It would cost a lot to convert it and you would get very limited range. It is better to convert it to some other alternative fuel like E85 (if it isn’t already capable), biodiesel (if it’s a diesel), hybrid or CNG.
yeah u can but why would you want to? get a normal people car like a Malibu or something.
As others have posted, Conversion kits may be available, but with kits costing $ 10,000 or more (plus additional cost for installation) you are looking at a cost of $ 15,000 or more (Assuming you can find a mechanic willing to take on the job).
Using an estimated $ 5/gallon your “break even” point would be near 3000 gallons of fuel. Assuming you get only 15MPG, that works out to be about 45,000 miles, not including the cost of the electricity.
Your range will also be limited probably to 50-70 miles per charge or less, and your tow capacity would be minimal if any.
Hang on for a few years and buy a Chevy Volt (expected delivery 2010) http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/420/69/
