My cousin shoped online and within 20 minutes had several calls, she laid out what she wanted and got it, a brand new tahoe for 32k when it should have been nearly 40. and it was decked out, with everything. Yes a few told her it woukd never happen, but it just takes one!
Won’t say impossible, but unlikely.
Carsdirect.com is selling the 2007 RX400h for $ 43k (MSRP $ 47k) before tax and license… so it would be around $ 47k out the door.
You can try faxing all the dealers with your offer and see if any responds. I doubt it though.
And to the moron who thinks Lexus is just a Toyota…. I’ll bet he takes his family to McDonald’s for Christmas dinner. What a dumb redneck.
Based on Kelley Blue Book the Invoice price of a Lexus RX400h with NAV and AWD is over $ 42,000.
Given that you are in Cal. and the demand for Hybrid vehicles is high, I would assume that getting in cheap isn’t going to happen. The dealer always has the upper hand when it comes to in-demand models. They have no incentive to discount them.
By the time you add Tax, Transportation fees and the Tag and Title expenses your “out the door” price of $ 44K isn’t reasonable.
The easiest way to lower your loan amount is to add more cash up front in the form of a down payment or positive equity from a trade.
48k is a good deal, take it. Consumer reports DOES NOT sell cars, neither does Edmund’s, or Kelly blue book. Go ahead and call them, say, “I want to buy the 400h for 44k out the door, just like your site says, will you sell it to me?” I’d love to hear the answer you get. If 3k makes that big of a difference, maybe you shouldn’t be spending that much in the first place.
And to Shaq: A Lexus IS a toyota, made with most of the same parts, engines, engineers, designers, management etc. They use high grade steel, aluminum, leather, plastic, wood etc. but it IS a toyota.
