Grand Prix Bugatti
Product Description
The Grand Prix Bugatti has a strong claim to a book all of its own, with its enviable record of racing successes, its superb craftsmanship and, for the more mechanically minded, the great variety of its ingenious design features unique to the creations of the great artist designer, Ettore Bugatti. This book is devoted to the racing Types 35, 37, 43 and 51, in their various forms, and describes their anatomy in detail and their racing achievements. A schedule of individual models, in chassis number order, gives type number, factory date, brief history and, where known, the present owner; the appendices include tabulated specifications of the types. Bugatti owners will also find much practical information to help them maintain their historic racing cars.

The book consists of two parts: a development/race history of the Grand Prix Bugattis, and an extremely detailed technical description of the cars (you could almost build one given the description here…).

I found a secondhand (1968) mint example of this fine book. Very detailed with many Black-white photos and nice detailed drawings. I think as a collector or enthousiast of Bugatti cars you use this book only. And for someone who is offered a real Bugatti Type 35/37 there is a detailed list of all chassis numbers in the back of the book so that you can check the actual car and avoid buying a Argentine fake! And if you can also find ‘Pur Sang’ , by the hand of master H.G.Conway, you slowly step into Bugatti heaven!

Hi, just wanted to let all potential buyers know that this is NOT the 1968 book. It is a very nice but NEW copy of the 1968 book. I bought it, but if I would have known beforehand that it was merely a copy of the book I would not have bought it since I collect the original books. Other than that the information in the book of course is a fantastic read! When you are interested in its content, it is a fabulous book, but as a collector you’d feel down. Now I have it, I can easily tell the difference. See the logo under it’s wheel? The 1968 version does not have any logo’s under the wheel. Happy reading!
