This Garmin has seizures,
This unit right out of the box is DYSLEXIC. Drives right by my house 2 miles then turn on a road that is not even in our town. Don’t buy Refurb units. Also the unit was registered last Aug 21, 2010 and I just bought is Tuesday. I am returning unit and looking at a different manufacturer. NUF-SAID

This is a great item. Looks sleek and lots of positive comments. The POI search and traffic receiver is such an asset. Its saved me a few times when stuck and had to find new route to my destination. All in all a good solid gps.

|Garmin 3790T GPS,
Perfect size, same as typical smart phone. Very easy to mount, no wires to mess with. Have it set up in two cars and just take it back and forth. Traffic only works on one though since you have to buy another power cable with the embeded traffic antennae for another $120, no way. Haven’t used all it’s features yet, but can say using it as a picture viewer is very slow and cumbersum. Had hoped it would be better. Speaker mount works great and doesn’t sound tinney like some do. I feel I have to talk too loud though for the spoken commands. For the most part it seems to understand everything I say, you just have to be slow and deliberate.It’s always waiting for you to talk, you just have to say the right command to wake it up, which is programmable. So if you want to have fun, and take out some of your frustrations on something that won’t fight back, you can program it to wake up to, “Hey Stupid”, and it says, “Speak a command”. So far I have found it bright enough in the daylight to see and operate. I like the maps better than Tom Tom which I had before. It will automatically see your phones numbers and if you forget to pair it to your bluetooth, it does it automatically if your phone rings. Hands free phone calling works fine, but like I said, I don’t think you should have to talk as loud as I do to wake it up. Part of it might be the noise in my truck, but in my car you still have to talk loud. Screen is large and responsive and I would buy one again. Somehow I need to get on the other end of the phone though because some people have complained that the sound on their end is not so great.
