hi i have a question about the test light i tested my car and the light comes on a little and it blinks off and on would you be able to tell me why it does that

@scottykilmer Hi Scotty, I might have an issue such as this one. Sometimes when I start my car, the starter cuts off, but if I crank it again then it will start. I’m not sure if it’s a short from the starter. Also, sometimes when I start my car, the batter light flickers on a off for a few seconds and shuts off. Do you believe that there is a short where the starter is or is it something else?

i got a new batery but stil my car won’t start from the first times but afte the second atempt it will run ? do u think its ignition or alternator prob. thanks scotty

I tried your test, after I changed out the altenator on a Honda Accord. First checking all the fuses, as they where all intact. The light went off after removing a 100 amp fuse for the battery. After rechecking all the connections to the altenator, and the battery cables, making sure they were clean and tight. The car started charging again. Could the short still be there? I ran a voltage meter to the battery and it measured 12.7-14. Should I replace the cable from battery to starter?

@Matthew55904 Just put a voltmeter across the battery, most put out 13.4 and up when running and charging. Scotty

scotty i was gonna get a Windshild washer fluid heater for my car i need atleast 13.0 volts current on the battey with the car runnning to make it work how do i test if im gettin 13 volts before buy the heater?

Mr Kilmer… how do I find what is shorting my injector circuit for the 4th cylinder in my 99 Pontiac Grand Am? There is one injector that is getting constant current while the engine is on. It’s flodding the cylinder in gasoline and making it spit gasoline out of the back. I’m sure there is a short that is not on the fuel pump, or the fuel pump module, or the ECM. So, how do I find where it is!? Thank you in advance! This is not my lucky day though! I’ve been working in this car a lot.
