Original factory mirror had a a metal bracket , this one is plastic, when I installed it there was no issues , I did use a sealent to stop water seepage between door and mirror bracket/base, there is no gasket with new mirror and the original gasket in my case broke when the old mirror came off. I have been happy with this mirror , it stays put, road vibration doesn’t effect adjustment
