First Drive: Chrysler Imperial Concept
Go to MYRIDE.COM for more car videos. With the 300, Chrysler created a smash hit. When it was introduced, the upscale style of this sedan captured the admiration of people from all walks of life, and the best part, you didn’t have to be a millionaire to afford one. Learning from its success, it appears Chrysler may be looking to use the same formula with its new Imperial Concept. Introduced at this year’s North American International Auto Show, the Imperial is positioned to be Chrysler’s flagship luxury sedan, that is, if they decide to build it.

Chrysler so needs to build this Imperial! People who wish they had a Bentley could come close to having one buying this Imperial. Not to mention most of us enjoy cars with testicular fortitude.
HOLY SHIT !! THAT THING LOOK LIKE A BENTLY
seriously the car is good for one thing…bringing back that shitty movie THE CAR
that is really bad taste, i really hope they didn’t repeat what happened during the 70′s and 80′s where Chrysler car drove like a big boat and had a reputation of terrible handing and craftsmanship. So aim high build one with quality and performance approaching Lexus’ territory and you will have yourself a fine product.
..it may be similar to the Phantom, but you can definitely see a 70′s Imperial influence as well…
seeing both cars in this video the 300 looked like a sucky car in the beginning.
you build we buy
chryslers 300 and imperial are cheap rolls royce
so like….. where do they keep this thing?
@Buffalobigboy69 np, you made an excellent choice and it should last you as long as you decide to keep it.
@GMCman82 Thanks for the kind complement. I know i made the right choice. My ’09 Town Car is the nicest car I’ve ever owned. The comfort is outstanding. Not to mention all the good things having a big V8 brings. Like a good ride, passably, and the safety of being in a big solid car. Funny how people show you respect on the road. Most stop a full car length behind me at a red light. If i take good care of her i plan on keeping her for many years to come.
black on black would be look good on this car…
@Buffalobigboy69 yep, Lincoln is fords cadalliac. a lincoln is pretty much the embodiment of luxury, comfort, style, appeal, and engineering excellence. all the best attributes of a well handling powerful luxury car all rolled into one sweet machine. Those are about the ONLY fords i completely like. you have good taste in cars and have picked a real winner.
it’s too short of a car.
Ick…. If I were to get an imperial I would go for a New Yorker from the 50′s
If they do built a new Imperial i hope it WON’T be just a souped up 300. The car needs to be wider and have more comfortable seating then the current 300. I test drove a 300 in 2009. The car was very good looking and had no problem passing in traffic. BUT, it was not a comfortable car to drive. I’ve owned a ’94 New Yorker and a 2000 LHS. Both good comfortable cars. Bottom line, i bought a new 2009 Lincoln Town car and i LOVE it! That’s the car Chrysler Imperial should be modeled after.
If Chrysler/Fiat plans to retro the Imperial then DO IT RIGHT. IMO, this thing is an abortion on wheels offering none of the grace, design and flare of the original!
The Phantom is a copy of the fiat 124, only bigger.
@Dovi65 This Concept will go into production in 2012, but it willn’t have the suicide doors
thats not a rolls royce?
I want to see the New Yorker come back one day
Attn Chrysler: Bring back the Imperial brand, but DON”T make it just another badge-engineered copy of the 300. Give the Imperial class! BUILD IT ALREADY!!!!
