MXCP66 Receiver
Your CDs and More
The MXCP66 can play CD, CD-R, and CD-RW discs, either with standard audio or loaded with hours of your favorite MP3 or WMA files. ID tags for both MP3 and WMA files are supported, for convenient display of song and artist information on the unit’s display.
Front-Panel USB and Auxiliary Inputs
No CDs no problem–you can also put a bunch of MP3/WMA files on a USB thumb drive for playback via the MXCP66′s front-panel USB port. Since this is a standard USB connection, it will also charge most MP3 players, cell phones, or other devices that get their harge via USB.
For playback from your iPod or other MP3 player, connect to the 3.5mm auxiliary input to enjoy your tunes, and to the USB port if you want to do so without losing any precious battery time.
AM/FM Radio
Of course, sometimes you want some live programming, at the very least to check on the traffic or local news. The MXCP66′s tuner has spacing for both US and European frequencies, and can store 30 favorite stations, with an automatic station storing feature. Convenient pre-set scanning and one touch station memory lets the captain concentrate on the sea waves, rather than the airwaves.
Solid Audio
Audio is rendered faithfully by an advanced 1-bit D/A converter, and delivered through four clean channels of 50 watts peak power. When you’re ready to expand your system, three sets of 2V preamp outputs are provided (front, rear and subwoofer).
Marine Ready
The MXCP66 features a rust-resistant chassis and conformal coated circuit boards, for use out on the open water.
DMP66 Speakers
The Perfect Match
With power handling of 60 Watts peak, these 6.5-inch drivers make a great match for the MXCP66 receiver. They feature injection-molded polypropylene cones and poly-coated cloth surrounds. A one-piece basket with integrated grille keeps things protected.
Marine Performance
Speaking of protection, these marine speakers feature corrosion-resistant ABS protection and rust-resistant mounting hardware.

Mega Battery Killer in standby,
I love the feature set of this unit, it provides everything I need in a great package, with enough audio output for my needs and the USB Function means I can toss a USB thumb drive in it and play all my favorites, but when done I can grab that and throw it in my car and do the same. Havin the aux means I can use any MP-3 player, Mine, my buddys or a fellow rafter who has killer tunes but no tunes on his boat. This also is cool cause I can use a smart phone and play Pandora off of my Droid. CD/R RW is great cause I can burn a CD with a whole days worth of music and keep it on the boat.
So why the low rating, the title says it all. This thing for whatever reason will draw the power down on my boat battery if I leave the keep alive circut connected to the power buss and turn the unit off. Seems like a no brainer to turn the battery switch off each time, but the one time you forget, BAM! you got a dead battery on the boat in a matter of a week. I wonder if it is turning itself on or something, and then running the bat down, because the keep alive voltage is WAY WAY to small to draw down the AGM batts I have on the boat by itself….
May have to take it back over to West Marine and change it out for another head unit, maybe that will fix it, but I am giving folks a heads up. If you only have one battery in your boat, be aware of this potential problem.
As for the features and such, it is a great unit, reliable, with good audio quality. Speakers are just OK, and the press on covers tend to bounce out. Because my speakers are mounted facing down out of my electronics box I had to jam a bit of thin plastic in the groove with the cover to keep em from falling out when I hit a wake or running “Outside the Gate”. This is better than gluing them so I can get em off if I need to. Overall I am happy, and would be elated if I did not have this problem keep showing up.

|Nice Radio with Great Features,
Purchased this radio and so far I love it. Really like the USB and MP3 feature which I will use more than the CD or AM/FM radio. This little gadget allows you play music either using a USB flash drive or IPOD.
I must say I did have a problem with installation. You have to make sure you wire it correctly or it will drain your battery. Installation instructions were not the greatest so I had to call for tech support. They were able to help me get it wired correctly and now I have no problems with it draining my battery.
Speakers are not the greatest but my time in the boat in minimal, so they work just fine for me. Totally satisfied with this purchase.

|Second Dual Marine Stereo to fail me…,
This deck never worked right from the get go. The CD player would not load CD’s. Trying to load any disc resulted in just a clicking sound from inside the deck. This is funny because the reason I bought the deck was to replace another Dual Marine Stereo that wouldn’t load CD’s either.
Also, the USB functionality does not work right. It read and started playing a USB flash drive that I inserted, but stopped after about three songs. It then started scanning through all the folders (but not playing anything). After a minute or so of this scanning, it just plain refused to read from the USB drive at all. I tried 4 other flash drives with the same result.
So, this one is going back and I’m going to look for something from a more reputable manufacturer.
