@operationcwaI789789 if either type of driving were easy you would be doing it

The charge in the final laps from Perkins reminds of Button in Canada in 2011.

@operationcwaI789789 NASCAR rednecks can’t compute why inbreeding is wrong.

@gojohnson48 races are won on corners – by corners I mean those turning left and right, varying radii, and dips and hills. The only exciting race on NASCAR’s racing season is when they race on the Infineon. Besides, what do the spoilers do on the NASCAR racecars? They are essentially speed brakes. What the hell are the race “engineers” thinking?

“Dang it Cletus, we goin’ get ourselves a maaaghty beast. Let’s put on this metal plate on the back end so our Lord Jesus chraaast can do his magic”

gojohnson48 says in August 12th 2011 at 11:47 pm

@maverickfa14 thats pretty much the only help they have, no anti lock brakes, no speed limiters for pit road, nascar is about the pure raw mechanical skill, other forms of racing are highly technologically driven, i love all forms of racing and respect the drivers of all, to do this takes balls and skill, i still dont get why people rip on one form of racing, just doesnt make sense to me

gojohnson48 says in August 13th 2011 at 12:06 am

@operationcwaI789789 why not?

nobody does controlled defensive like Bowe. Awesome bit of driving from both of them. :)

@mini4life92 While I am a diehard Nascar fan, I must correct you on one thing. They do, in fact, have power steering. There are numerous instances in past races where a driver has lost power steering due to the belt breaking or pump failing ( they do not use a serpentine belt like street cars ). When they do lose it, the car becomes a bear to drive, and while the drivers have the stamina to finish the race, the can’t run competitive lap times without it.

briansayshi says in August 13th 2011 at 2:27 am

trying to compare different categories is pointless. they all have apsects of their racing that people will either like or loath. this doesnt make them any less difficult to get to the top. a prime example would be marcus ambrose from v8 supercars, obviously talented, wins 2 championships and goes to nascar to start from the bottom to make his way into the sprint cup. if you still think nascars easy how about you ask him.

TheV12ferrari says in August 13th 2011 at 2:31 am

@LegoRacer41 Damn right

mini4life92 says in August 13th 2011 at 2:57 am

@m00seimu5 nascars have no power steering, they have very little downforce, in excess of 800hp not 600 like these, the tracks are often bumpy like this too, and infact there are a number of tracks on the nascar calender that are short and require constant accelerating and braking, and feathering of the throttle :) have you ever watched an entire nascar race to absorb all the facts and stuff before coming to a conclusion like you have? GAH, now we are being keyboard warriors…yay for us…not

m00seimu5 says in August 13th 2011 at 3:24 am

@mini4life92 Dont know id give it a go tho. but think about it other race cars have the same power and need to control that car around corners that are all different, with other cars bumping into them. to control a car at 300kmph is hard but to go from 0-150-60-250-40 and so on is harder. have you driven a powerful car around a tight corner while pushing the gas. to do that fast takes skill.

mini4life92 says in August 13th 2011 at 3:50 am

@m00seimu5 Van you drive a car at 300kmh inches from a wall and bumping another car??? Even though its an oval, yes i’ll agree it can get pretty boring. but there is still just as much skill involved to keep those cars pointing in a straight line as any other type of motorsport…

m00seimu5 says in August 13th 2011 at 4:26 am

@mini4life92 The reason people rip on NASCAR is not beacuse it dosent take skill its beacuse its possibly the most boring sport ever (NFL is a close second, NRL all the way.) and to be completly honest it dosent take more skill than pretty much all forms of motorsport. V8 super cars go 300kmph then brake to 100kmph take the corect line though a corner whilst feathering the gas into the exit of the corner. NASCAR go 300kmph follow close to car pass.. be passed.. drafting drafting.. borning.

Mr60610 says in August 13th 2011 at 5:17 am

@mini4life92 everyone rips nascar because it’s so ridiculously boring, these guys have skill on another level compared to nascar…

alxcsb says in August 13th 2011 at 5:30 am

@mini4life92 I actually thought the same way about NASCAR drivers not so long ago, until I watched a couple of very close races in the Winston Cup. Those guys, besides being really good tacticians, also have balls of steel. I mean it looks simple from your favorite chair in the living room, but I am sure it’s far from that. All I wanna say to those that think NASCAR is simple is to give it a shot in Gran Turismo 5 or in any proer simulator on the top difficulty level.

mini4life92 says in August 13th 2011 at 6:25 am

@cao57 why does everyone rip into NASCAR? not just you mate but a lot of people…It takes a hell of a lot of skill to drive a car round a track at 300kmh. even if it is an oval. Each type of motorsport requires a very different type of skill for each one. when will people accept that?

cao57 says in August 13th 2011 at 7:21 am

NASCAR drivers can’t match these guys skills.
