Only one “short” coming…..,
I’ve been riding for well over 20 yrs and the Deltran Battery Tender is one of the greatest products you can buy for your cycle!!
In the early years, I was playing with trickle chargers and/or starting the bike once or twice a month over the winter months, only to always seem to be pushing the bike down the alley come spring, trying to pop the clutch to get her started because the battery didn’t make it through the winter with a decent charge….again!
About 10 years ago I bought a Battery Tender Plus at a cycle shop’s open house. They were rather expensive then, but thought it worth a try considering the sale price. Loved it!!! Still have that original one, although I have been through a couple of the Jrs.
With 5 streetbikes in the garage, it seemed like a no brainer to invest in this 4 bank version. Did a little shopping around and found this to be the best deal. I had read somewhere, (although can’t recall where), that this model had leads 12 ft long, so I didn’t see the need for the extentions. Wrong!!! Leads are only 4.5 ft long each, so I wish I would’ve got the extentions. 25ft is a bit long and I have seen 12ft elsewhere.
Again, fantastic product for the off season or if you’re fortunate enough to have a multiple bike stable!!

|Simply the finest battery management system around for the price.,
I own a farm and now have 12 different vehicles and batteries under the watchful eye of my Battery Tenders. It seemed like I was buying a battery every 3-4 months for one of my vehicles or pieces of equipment. Not any more, I have yet to buy a battery in almost 5 years of Battery Tender usage. It even “repaired” some old batteries through its careful application of power. Much cheaper in the long run to invest in Battery Tenders than new batterys.

|Battery Tender best man cave accessory ever,
I first purchased my Harley-Davidson V-Rod back in July 2003. By December 2005 the stock battery was dead a mere 29 months after I had purchased the bike. I started searching online thinking that this was unacceptable and wound up purchasing a battery tender jr. to go with the replacement battery. As of the writing of this review (May 11, 2010) the replacement battery is still going strong at 53 months and counting. I was so thrilled with the performance of the battery tender jr. I went out and purchased the 4-bank battery charger so I could hook up all 4 of my vehicles at the same time. Another reference point was I bought my GMC Sierra back in March 2001 and it’s battery made it all the way to February 2010. When I took it into AutoZone to be tested the guys at the shop were completely floored that I had a stock battery that made it almost 9 years to the day. It wasn’t as if I was particularly kind to this battery either as it spent 3 winters outside in Detroit along the way not to mention I only kept it on the battery tender periodically and over the past 4 years. Considering most automotive batteries come with a 60 month warranty and I made it to month 107 I’d have to say that’s a pretty healthy gain in lifetime. I’m still not sure what the battery tender’s power consumption is but I’m fairly certain this unit will pay for itself several times over during the life of your vehicles. If you take care of your vehicles then you owe it to them and yourself to add this device to your mancave. I have mounted it to the ceiling and plugged it in the wall outlet next to the garage door opener so I hardly even notice it’s there.
