Safe, Smart, 4-step Battery Charging
The Battery Tender 12-volt/1.25-amp 4-Bank Battery Management System is much more than a trickle charger. Utilizing a 4-step charging program (initialization, bulk charge, absorption mode and float mode), it allows users to simply connect the charger to up to four batteries, either in or out of a vehicle and forget about it until you are ready to use it, with the confidence that the batteries in all four vehicles are being maintained at optimal performance levels. This makes it perfect for seasonal and recreational vehicles like motorcycles, jet skis, ATV’s, snowmobiles and more,. It is also safe for your battery because it utilizes advanced microprocessor technology that automatically switches its output voltage to a storage or float level. This feature eliminates the need to worry about the damaging effects of overcharging, and the resulting need to check on the condition of a charging battery. If or when the battery voltage drops too far under load, this same smart technology resumes output power and the charging cycle begins again. The unit also features spark-proof connectors, short circuit and reverse polarity protection, an easy to understand charging status LED indicator for each charging bank, durable yet lightweight construction and almost no current draw from batteries connected to it.

Key Features:

  • Four independent charging stations.
  • 12 volts/1.25 amps per charging bank.
  • Extremely lightweight at less than 3 lbs.
  • Operates anywhere in the world. 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
  • Microprocessor controlled constant current charging.
  • Spark-proof and reverse polarity/short circuit protected.
  • Temperature compensated to ensure optimum charge voltage according to ambient temperature.
  • Perfect for all AGM (absorbed glass mat), sealed maintenance free and flooded batteries.
  • Designed to meet U.S. and International product safety standards (UL/CE).
  • 2-year warranty.

*Note: All Deltran battery chargers will charge all types of lead acid batteries: either flooded (standard STD), sealed maintenance free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM), or sealed maintenance free gelled electrolyte (GEL) batteries. However, for optimum battery performance in deep cycle applications (for example, running a trolling motor), it is best to chose the Deltran charger that has the charging software specifically designed for the battery type. Fortunately, since the technical staff at Deltran has developed charging software that works equally well for both STD & AGM batteries, the only choice to be made is between 2 models: either STD & AGM or GEL software.

I’ve been riding for well over 20 yrs and the Deltran Battery Tender is one of the greatest products you can buy for your cycle!!

In the early years, I was playing with trickle chargers and/or starting the bike once or twice a month over the winter months, only to always seem to be pushing the bike down the alley come spring, trying to pop the clutch to get her started because the battery didn’t make it through the winter with a decent charge….again!

About 10 years ago I bought a Battery Tender Plus at a cycle shop’s open house. They were rather expensive then, but thought it worth a try considering the sale price. Loved it!!! Still have that original one, although I have been through a couple of the Jrs.

With 5 streetbikes in the garage, it seemed like a no brainer to invest in this 4 bank version. Did a little shopping around and found this to be the best deal. I had read somewhere, (although can’t recall where), that this model had leads 12 ft long, so I didn’t see the need for the extentions. Wrong!!! Leads are only 4.5 ft long each, so I wish I would’ve got the extentions. 25ft is a bit long and I have seen 12ft elsewhere.

Again, fantastic product for the off season or if you’re fortunate enough to have a multiple bike stable!!

I own a farm and now have 12 different vehicles and batteries under the watchful eye of my Battery Tenders. It seemed like I was buying a battery every 3-4 months for one of my vehicles or pieces of equipment. Not any more, I have yet to buy a battery in almost 5 years of Battery Tender usage. It even “repaired” some old batteries through its careful application of power. Much cheaper in the long run to invest in Battery Tenders than new batterys.

This review is from: Battery Tender 022-0148-DL-WH 12V 4-Bank Battery Management System (Misc.)

I first purchased my Harley-Davidson V-Rod back in July 2003. By December 2005 the stock battery was dead a mere 29 months after I had purchased the bike. I started searching online thinking that this was unacceptable and wound up purchasing a battery tender jr. to go with the replacement battery. As of the writing of this review (May 11, 2010) the replacement battery is still going strong at 53 months and counting. I was so thrilled with the performance of the battery tender jr. I went out and purchased the 4-bank battery charger so I could hook up all 4 of my vehicles at the same time. Another reference point was I bought my GMC Sierra back in March 2001 and it’s battery made it all the way to February 2010. When I took it into AutoZone to be tested the guys at the shop were completely floored that I had a stock battery that made it almost 9 years to the day. It wasn’t as if I was particularly kind to this battery either as it spent 3 winters outside in Detroit along the way not to mention I only kept it on the battery tender periodically and over the past 4 years. Considering most automotive batteries come with a 60 month warranty and I made it to month 107 I’d have to say that’s a pretty healthy gain in lifetime. I’m still not sure what the battery tender’s power consumption is but I’m fairly certain this unit will pay for itself several times over during the life of your vehicles. If you take care of your vehicles then you owe it to them and yourself to add this device to your mancave. I have mounted it to the ceiling and plugged it in the wall outlet next to the garage door opener so I hardly even notice it’s there.
