Question by Travis C: 86 Buick Somerset Takes long time to get into Drive when cold.?
My 86 Buick somerset never had this problem till about a month ago, in the mornings on my way to work when i reverse out of my drive way i put it into D and wait at least 20 seconds for it to go into Drive to hurry it up i put it into D and rev it to 3000 RPM and after 3 or 4 seconds it will it Drive hard and be good.
This happens only when it is fully cooled down.

your transmission filter is clogged, the transmission fluid is essentially a thin version of motor oil. oil changes with temperature, it gets thick with cold weather. the media of the transmission filter is very dense so a thick fluid will have problems getting to it. consider investing and do both a transmission flush with a proper flush machine, about $ 80 and replace the transmission filter.

low fluid level, check the transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick
