2011 Saab 9-5 Aero Turbo6 XWD Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour

In thisvideo I give a full in depth tour of the 2011 Saab 9-5 Aero. Released as a late 2010 model, the 2011 now boasts a panoramic glass roof along with the great redesign. Overall makes the car have a much more stately appearance and further set it in a more sport/luxury sedan class. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

@seriousbe I guess maybe it’s just a difference in perception. Here in the USA, the auto industry is so competitive and unfortunetly, Saab is almost a forgotten brand. Nobody thinks of Saab when they look at Audi, Volvo, BMW or Infinity. I looked at current offers for the 2010 9-5 Aero and dealers are discounting them as low as $40,000 and they still aren’t selling!

seriousbe says in March 22nd 2011 at 9:16 pm

@Vanrocco66

OK, you got a point,but you could still find Kias and Hyundais better equiped for half the price of a BMW.Or here in Europe,tiny little shitty unreliable french craps.. Perhaps this car is too expensive for your country, i can understand it.In my country,saloon cars with a length exceding 5 meters are named premium cars. We all know they’re not gonna sell millions of them, but i cannot blame them for asking such a price when you see how much you have to spend for a Jag .

Vanrocco66 says in March 22nd 2011 at 9:42 pm

@seriousbe Maybe so but visit the Audi & Volvo web sites and take a look at what they offer in the A4 and S60 top of the line models. They offer as much if not more then the 9-5 Aero and at a cheaper price. You can compare any vehicle but if you aske me, an apples to apples comparison would be the A4, S60 and 9-5 based on what they offer on their top end models. The 9-5 Aero is a 38-$42,000 car here in the USA. They will never sell them at the $50K price.

it’s so quirky. i’d have it just cus it’s different to the 5 series (Y)

nickrusanov says in March 22nd 2011 at 11:17 pm

that shut him up pretty fast=)

seriousbe says in March 22nd 2011 at 11:46 pm

@Vanrocco66

I’m afraid you’re comparing the 9-5 with cars from lower category.The 9-5 is a BMW 5-series,A6,Volvo S80 and Mercedes E-Classe rival..And if you consider it,The Saab is a very good deal compared to the min 70.000 quids asked for a car of the same size with similar options.

Vanrocco66 says in March 23rd 2011 at 12:39 am

@seriousbe Things must be drasticly different in your country then because here in the USA I can buy the following cars all with VERY similar options …..
BMW 328i XDrive $0 service fees for the first 50K miles $46,223
Volvo S60 AWD $0 service fees for the first 60K miles $46,200
Audi A4 w/Quattro prestige edition $46,200
Saab 9-5 Aero XWD $0 servoce fees for first 36K miles $51,900

seriousbe says in March 23rd 2011 at 12:54 am

@Vanrocco66

Ok,perhaps you could have a BMW or an Audi for that range of price,but with no options in it and with a less powerful engine.Here in Belgium,My father just bought a 9-5 Aero 2.8T full options that was almost half the price of an A6 with the same level of equipment and motor..And by the way,i own a 9-3 too,and i wouldn’t switch for any 3-series,nor Audi A4.

Vanrocco66 says in March 23rd 2011 at 1:42 am

@seriousbe Cheaper??? The 9-5 Aero lists for 50K, for that money you could get more from Audi or BMW. I like the Saab better myself – in fact I own a 9-3 Aero – but the car in this video is waay overpriced for the market Saab is trying to play in.

Vanrocco66 says in March 23rd 2011 at 1:43 am

Like I said in a previous post, i love Saabs but if they want to sell cars in the USA they have to stop trying to compete with BMW, Audi & Cadillac in terms of price. The car in this video is 50K and for that money other brands offer more. Saab needs to market themselves as offering more for less! The car in this video should list at $39,000-$43,000. This is why they haven’t been selling the new 9-5 as they expected. It’s just to darn expensive!

oceantrolls73 says in March 23rd 2011 at 1:55 am

Nicely shot video! thanks for posting… I am glad the “night panel” was retained and so were to the SAAB air vents but they look crappy on an otherwise impressive instrument cluster. wonder if the 2.3 4cyl turbo is still available.

Thekavsen says in March 23rd 2011 at 2:23 am

I like the inside and the front, but the back is Buick!
The next 9-3 must have the inside from this and a family front like this!
