@erwinruys Because it originated in America and NASCAR for the most part is mostly American drivers for the exception of a few here and there who have or does race in NASCAR. Indycar is a mixed-nationality sport since it has many different nationalities that run in it.

@nathankrug, The ending was never in doubt Barnhart said. They said they never considered taking the win away from Wheldon. He was ahead when the yellow came out. If you pass under yellow in Nascar, its the same thing as in IndyCar.
@dwidwi Throw 5 cautions? what? NASCAR has a way better ruling system. today’s indy 500 is under review. There’s a chance that Hildebrand will actually get the checkered flag because he was the leader at the time of the caution EVEN THOUGH he caused the caution to come out. How F’ed up is that. Danica said today that people ask her all the time if the indy 500 is the only race she runs every year because nobody follows the sport!!!!!!!! That’s why she’s movin on to……NASCAR!

@leighrowden70 hmmm in F1, theres like 2 passes the whole race, everyone is single file, road courses suck. Indycar, have the seats are filled, your face of F1 left for NASCAR (since Nascar looks easy he should rack up wins) and he only has 1. Cant make contact with another car or it will explode. I call that boring.

I remember watching this live and still today I think GOD DAMN IT when they cross the line. However it is easy to see that Helio losses momentum in the late center section of 4 and he knew it when it happened. Just a damn shame. Both great drivers though, I will admit
