Shown here is Mercury’s base 2-door hardtop in the Cougar line. Also available was a more upscale Brougham model, along with the XR-7 2-door, which had distinctive rear-end & taillight styling.

2001 Mercury Cougar C2 from North America – Comments
The fuel pump has gone out twice, first at 30,000 miles and now, only 4500 miles later. The coolant light comes and goes, but it is full. The Cougar emblem on the steering wheel is sun warped.
