1998 Jaguar XJ8 L Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour

In thisvideo I give a full in depth tour of the 1998 Jaguar XJ8. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

These videos are perfect when concidering which car to look closer at when thinking of buying one.. like me. “Oh, wonder if saabkyle04 has one of these on his channel”, pretty often you have ;P It’s almost like you can feel how the buttons, materials, shifter and stuff feel in the car and you get a good overall look.

This video makes me want one so bad….

@JeremyLikeCorvettes btw to give U an idea I have a series 3 XJ which is smaller than the model in this video and I fit in it fine. I’m 6′ 1″. I also have an old BMW 7 and although it isn’t as sharp to drive as the old Jag and bumps along an uneven road, it is like sitting in an aircraft hanger and the seats are great. Both eat the road up and are great cruisers, but the Jag eats up the country lanes too and that’s the difference between the two. If you only use the highways the BMW Is a gr8 car

sigmaman93 says in February 15th 2012 at 5:23 am

@JeremyLikeCorvettes cont..But any flagship cars from the big three are good. The Jag by far gives the smoothest ride and is a superb drive, almost like a sports car in some respects. That’s the car to put a smile on your face every time you step in it. The Mercs and Beemers offer more cabin room though as you can see with the Jag it is low and sleek to make it a more sporting car. If your dad is very tall he might be better off with a Merc or BMW, but if he’s not overly tall he’ll love the Jag.

@JeremyLikeCorvettes – By all means it’s worth your dad buying one. Like with any car though he’ll need to find the best one he can find and not an abused example. Although Mercs and Beemers have taken their eye off the ball somewhat; they are still fantastic cars which are still reliable, especially the flagship models. Mercs went downhill after ’94 when they considered their cars to be overengineered and they prurposely let the quality drop. Smaller Mercs aren’t that well built anymore…cont.

@sigmaman93 thx! my dad is thinking if he should buy it or not :)

sigmaman93 says in February 15th 2012 at 7:08 am

@JeremyLikeCorvettes – Yes, they are reliable. A lot of people are stuck in the past and refuse to believe Jaguars are reliable; usually just because they like to knock them. Jaguar were always very well built but went through a period of unreliability when British Leyland took control of them. British Leyland is long gone; as are Jaguar’s relaibilty issues. They took second place behind Lexus as the most reliable cars and are still improving all the time, unlike their German rivals.

@7477238 – A late reply here to your comment on the Jaguar video.

They do ride like a magic carpet, but the Jaguar with the finest ride quality ever was the Series 3 XJ’s. You won’t find a car, old or modern, that rides smoother than a series 3. The best ride of any car ever built.

JeremyLikeCorvettes says in February 15th 2012 at 8:11 am
