1984 Toyota Cressida Cold start up, exhaust, and review / walkaround / tour

I haven’t seen another MX63 Cressida on the road for MANY years so I thought this would be a cool video for Cressida lovers out there. Some of you may remember the Youtuber Davidfarm used to have one of theses. I misspoke when I popped the hood. It’s an inline 6, not a V6 (duh!). Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Video Rating: 4 / 5

@redmr2na I have no idea why this comment didn’t show up in my inbox, but yeah I completely agree. Old Toyota’s were nearly indestructible (save for corrosion problems), and are some of my favorite cars of all time w/ Cressidas, Celica Supras, MR2s, Corolla GT-S etc. It’s really a shame how far quality and building an enjoyable car has fallen on their list of priorities. Today there’s not a single car in their bland-box lineup that I would buy; they build appliances, not cars.

My baby is a Cressida ’90..

redmr2na says in December 4th 2011 at 3:32 pm

Let’s hear it for old Toyotas!!

redmr2na says in December 4th 2011 at 3:36 pm

ours was taken away from us when my dad was rear ended one december buy a huge 80s Chevy Blazer. He then got in to 4 runners. You know, instead of building the shit they do today, maybe Toyota should start remanufacturing the parts for their older cars. Cressida’s, and many other cars from this era, and the early nineties are still on the road, because they came from an era when as Top Gear presenters Clarkson, Hammond, and May so eloquintly put it, car makers built their cars properly.

redmr2na says in December 4th 2011 at 3:45 pm

Man, I love old Toyotas. My father had one of these when I was a kid, and this car was the shit back then, and still is now. I was really pissed when they discontinued the Cressida and brought out the Avalon. At the time, my mother had a equally cool car, the 85 Honda Accord. The Cressida, however would shit all over that car because it had the inline 6 baby, the Honda had its smaller yet no less reliabe 1.5 4 pot. The Cressida was a rocket ship though. Fast and comfortable. Unfortunately

I have an 84 Cressida Luxury Wagon, Same color and same interior- drifts like a madman!

crackaddict444 says in December 4th 2011 at 4:40 pm

@tpvalley Except it’s not an ugly car…

the lexus before the lexus

tpvalley says in December 4th 2011 at 6:15 pm

@peculiarmadman
u cant beat ugly cars like this, cars with a defined bonnet and boot/ trunck and hood rather than just a smooth bubble.

peculiarmadman says in December 4th 2011 at 6:40 pm

@tpvalley First sentence made me laugh

tpvalley says in December 4th 2011 at 6:56 pm

My aunt’s friend has a 1984 Cressida, his is white with burgandy leather interior, he has the digital gauges with the trip computer and only 101K original miles. The thing is immaculate.

pierceofduval says in December 4th 2011 at 8:01 pm

My first car was a 1984 Cressida wagon and I loved it. I used to drag race it! Best car I have ever owned! We swapped the motor out with a 2jz and had a blast I miss that car so much! He is a lucky kid.

collinsup says in December 4th 2011 at 8:58 pm

leitowuff says in December 4th 2011 at 9:30 pm

Mine is station wagon, these cars are really heavy and comfortable and they last forever…

Andyface79 says in December 4th 2011 at 10:39 pm

I almost bought one. An 84. You’d see them in Kansas from time to time, the guy down the street had one. But…I got a 95 Mazda instead. And it died 2 and a half years later. I ache watching this.

crackaddict444 says in December 4th 2011 at 11:16 pm

I have one, same year and everything. There’s still quite a few out here in CA
mines the same color too
